In this live-action adaptation of the beloved children's tale by Dr. Seuss, the reclusive green Grinch (Jim Carrey) decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville. Reluctantly joined by his hapless dog, Max, the Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home and sneaks into town to swipe everything holiday-related from the Whos. Movie Theater Mylar's-were used by the theaters in two places... one, in the box office, where small ones (2.5" x 11.5 ") announced the names of all the features being shown at that theater, and two, at the doorways of the actual auditoriums, where large ones (5" x 25") indicated which movies were being shown in which auditoriums. The Mylar's were placed in lightboxes, creating stunning displays by lighting up the translucent Mylar images from behind. Most theaters used these movie Mylar's from the late 1980's until just a few years ago when many of them began converting to digital signs. Mylar's are very collectible pieces of movie memorabilia and are becoming very rare as more and more theaters convert to digital displays.
